Staying Organized at your Apartments in San Luis Obispo

Here are some tips you can use to stay organized all semester at your apartments in San Luis Obispo.

Everyone living in our community of apartments in San Luis Obispo has different tricks that they use to stay organized during their busy end-of-the-semester schedule. Even more than studying every night or going to your professors’ office hours, your ability to stay organized might be the biggest determinant to your college success. Staying organized is all about finding a method that works for your personal schedule and style. That being said, we do have some tips that you can use to start crafting your plan for staying organized.

Let’s jump right into the list of tips, shall we? When you’re done reading through the blog post below, please feel free to share the link to this page with your friends. Better yet, go ahead and share this page with your neighbors at your community of San Luis Obispo student apartments! After all, you never know who might be struggling to get organized and get on track for the end-of-the-semester push.

Hang a calendar on the wall.

Everyone assumes that they can use their phone to keep track of their schedule, but there’s a big difference between having a calendar on your wall and having one in an app. For starters, you have to open the app before you can even see the calendar. The calendar on your wall is always open and available. The second big difference is that you type things into your phone and you write things on the calendar on your wall. We remember things much better when we actually write them. For these two reasons, we highly recommend that you keep a calendar on your wall in your apartment!

Set up a folder for your syllabi

There’s nothing more annoying than realizing you lost your syllabus for a class. It’s a pain to go find one online or get one from the professor when you could have just hung on to it like you promised yourself you would when the semester started.  As soon as you get your syllabi next semester, put them in a folder in your apartment where you know you won’t lose them. That way, you’ll always be aware of upcoming tests, papers and due dates.

Buy more boxes

One reason a lot of people get disorganized is because they simply don’t have enough storage spots for all their papers, notebooks, pens, etc. You can easily remedy this situation by buying boxes, baskets and other small storage containers. The more of these you have, the less cluttered your apartment will look.

Those are all the organization tips we’ve got to share with you this week, residents, but we’ll be back in December with two more brand new blogs!
